Lights on in Sophia scheme

THE lights ceremonially came on last night in the new Sophia housing scheme on the eastern fringes of Georgetown which now has electricity supply under the Unserved Areas Electrification Programme (UAEF).

Prime Minister Samuel Hinds did the honours by symbolically flipping a switch to turn on a street lamp to mark the milestone.

He urged residents to become part of the country’s economic growth and development by making use of the electricity in addition to the improved infrastructure and water supply in the newly developed community.
