Renewable energy supply for Regions Seven and Eight
GINA-October 4th 2005Prime Minister Samuel Hinds will be leaving tomorrow for Regions Seven (Cuyuni/Mazaruni) and Eight, (Potaro/Siparuni) to commission two photo-volt electrical generating units (solar panels).
According to Project Coordinator Maxine Nestor, the venture was funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at a cost of US$50,000 and is part of a renewable energy resource demonstration.
Representatives of the UNDP will also be accompanying the Prime Minister, along with other executing agents including the contractor and engineers.
