THE High Commission of India held a flag raising ceremony yesterday morning, at its Church and Peter Rose Streets, Queenstown office, to mark India’s 58th Independence anniversary.
High Commissioner, Mr. Avinash Gupta, speaking to Indian nationals and friends of the High Commission, read an address delivered to the people of India by its President, A.P.J Abdul Kalam.

As reported in yesterday’s issue of the Guyana Chronicle, “Government’s massive US$34.4M, Unserved Areas Electrification Programme (UAEP) forges ahead with the planting of electricity poles in a number of areas.â€
